Job Purpose:
As the Head of UK Operations at bf1systems Ltd, your primary responsibility is to lead and manage UK operational activities across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. You will focus on delivering operational excellence, maintaining safety standards, and driving continuous improvement to enhance overall efficiency and profitability.
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future success of bf1systems Ltd by driving operational efficiency, enhancing team performance, and contributing to the company’s overall strategic goals. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring that our sites operate safely and profitably, while maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Safety Leadership: Foster a safety-first culture and proactively address any safety concerns, working closely with the SHEQ team to maintain high safety standards across all sites.
• Multi-Site Management: Oversee the performance and operational output of multiple UK manufacturing facilities, ensuring smooth and efficient cross-site coordination.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support the senior management team, ensuring effective leadership development and team performance.
• Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Strategic Alignment: Ensure that operations are fully aligned with the company's long-term strategy, working closely with the leadership team to meet group objectives.
• Strategic Contribution: Participate in the business planning and strategy formulation for the entire bf1systems Ltd.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments, including procurement, technical, and finance, to ensure operational synergy and alignment with company goals.
• Performance Management: Conduct regular performance appraisals for site managers, setting and monitoring SMART objectives and providing coaching for ongoing development.
• Resource Management: Manage resources efficiently to meet production needs while controlling expenses in line with budgetary constraints.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Educational Qualifications: Degree in Business Management or equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading teams across multiple remote manufacturing sites, with strong capabilities in coaching and developing others.
• Manufacturing Expertise: In-depth understanding of manufacturing operations, business processes, and operational management.
• Technical Competence: Strong technical skills, with the ability to guide and support teams in achieving technical excellence.
• Process Management: Expertise in process optimization and customer/supplier relationship management.
• EHS Expertise: Comprehensive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management, ideally holding an IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent.
• Performance Management: Strong ability to manage team performance, set clear objectives, and uphold high standards of operational delivery.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational communication abilities, with a focus on clear, effective collaboration.
