TITLE: Electronics Assembly Technician

REPORTS TO: Electronics Team Leader


To be responsible for the manufacture and the assembly of Electronic products within TPMS, Interior electronics and Strain gauging used in the OEM, Motorsport TPMS and distributed electronics. There will be some mechanical and electrical assembly, to bf1systems and the customers specification. To meet delivery deadlines while always maintaining quality of work and behaviour, thus enabling the company to provide a quality, customer focussed service to internal and external customers.


• To work within a framework of safety, quality, cost, and delivery in the assembly of electronics, always demonstrating the right behaviours in line with the bf1systems vision thus enabling the company to provide a quality, customer focussed service to internal and external customers.

• Operate with a Safety-first mindset and record any unsafe situations in line with the company standards.

• Operate at high standards of quality that embraces a right first-time culture and eliminates the need for rework.

• Pro-actively advise of any pending delays during manufacture in time for any difficulties to be resolved to ensure high-cost efficiency.

• To carry out any duties as required by the company to ensure a quality product and service is delivered to customers OTIF.

• Operate a high standard of housekeeping with regards to all production documentation, test databases and works order line inspections, in accordance with bf1systems documentation procedure.

• Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

• Achieve effective continuity of production and agreed deadlines through flexible working patterns as defined in the company standards.

• To identify and participate in any training or development which could contribute to your department or company objectives.

• Update works order cards, parts lists or similar as required at time of build.

• To participate in and support a continuous improvement culture through offering suggestions for improvement and implementing for your area – identify and minimise all forms of non-added value tasks / processes in a constructive manner.



• Proven experience in the manufacture and assembly of electronics for example, but not limited to; Very skilled in soldering Surface mount components, Flat lug leads, through hole soldering all to IPC-610-A Class 3

• Manual dexterity and experience working with Surface mount components and small gauge wire

• Experience of working to complex circuit assembly drawings with accuracy and attention to detail. Including inspecting to quality standards and COPs

• The capability to work within tolerances and have a keen eye for detail.

• A pride in your work and the desire to progress your skills and experience on complex build and projects.

• To ensure manufacture is inspected at each stage, initially by yourself and if required by Quality Control.


• Experience working in a manufacturing background, specifically in electronics

• Understanding of ESD control

• Manufacture products in-line with BSSM and IPC procedures from drawings, procedures and specifications using test equipment, soldering processes, potting machine, and laser engraver.

Works closely with colleagues within the department and reports into the section leader.


The work objectives of this role are set by your Line Manager; work method and activity are closely supervised. The job holder is accountable for own performance and their contribution to the success of the team. Most decisions can be made by reference to established practices.
